Easter chickens with eggshell
Easter is here so why not make a small easter chicken?
A friend of mine wanted som easterchickens with eggshells so I immediately made a pattern and started crocheting.
The end result:
The work i crocheted in rounds.
I used Drops Muskat and crochet hook 3,5 mm.
You'll need crochet hook, sewing needle, yarn, safety eyes (or embroider the eyes) and stuffing.
Abbreviation:
MR - magic ring
st - stitch
sc - single crochet
Pattern - Chicken
MR
1. 6 sc in the ring (6)
2. 2 sc in each st (12)
3. 1 sc in each st (12)
4. *1 sc, 2 sc in next st*, repeat until end of round (18)
5. 1 sc in each st (18)
6. *2 sc, 2 sc in next st*, repeat until end of round (24)
7. 1 sc in each st (24)
8. *3 sc, 2 sc in next st*, repeat until end of round (30)
9-10. 1 sc in each st (30)
11. *3 sc, crochet 2 st together*, repeat until end of round (24)
12. 1 sc in each st (24)
Now you can fasten the safety eyes between round 6 and 7 and embroider the beak.
13. *2 sc, crochet 2 st together*, repeat until end of round* (18)
14. *1 sc, crochet 2 st together*, repeat until end of round* (12)
Stuff the chicken.
15. *Crochet 2 st together*, repeat until end of round (6)
Cut the thread and sew the hole close, fasten the thread.
Pattern - Upper eggshell

1. 5 sc in the ring (5)
2. 1 sc, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc (7)
3. 2 sc in each st (14)
4. 1 sc in each st (14)
5. *1 sc, 2 sc in next st*, repeat until end of round (21)
6. 1 sc in each st (21)
7. *2 sc, 2 sc in next st*, repeat until end of round* (28)
8-9. 1 sc in each st (28). Do a slip stitch in the first st of the round OR cut the yarn and sew the last stitch for a nicer finish. Its optional to change to another colour in the last round to know what shell belongs to wich chicken if you're crocheting chickens in different colours.
Cut yarn and fasten thread.
Pattern - Lower eggshell
MR.
1. 7 sc in the ring (7)
2. 2 sc in each st (14)
3. *1 sc, 2 sc in next st*, repeat until end of round (21)
4. 1 sc in each st (21)
5. *2 sc, 2 sc in next st*, repeat until end of round* (28)
6-10.
1 sc in each st (28). Do a slip stitch in the first st of the round OR cut the yarn and sew the last stitch for a nicer finish. Its optional to change to another colour in the last round to know what shell belongs to wich chicken if you're crocheting chickens in different colours.
